The third in a series devoted to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s second music director, Frederick Stock, hear rare and recently restored recording from 1929 and 1930 on this disc. Included here are some of Stock’s go-to and favorite composers — Glazunov, Goldmark, Strauss and Wagner — as well as two new additions to his discography, Mozart and his own Symphonic Waltz. Each track has been carefully restored and remastered by Mark Obert-Thorn.
